Bad situation.
Sounds to me like the Brits were being baited by a couple of potential suicide fellows.
The Commander did right in my eyes. I’d give them a couple shots across the bow and if they didn’t
cease and desist I would incinerate the boat and the suicide bombers in it.
Besides any type of peace keeping duties they may have or if peacefully transiting the area an aggressive
act against my ship and crew gets aggression from me. I will protect my ship and my crew completely.
That is what you would do if a state of war existed in the old fashioned “normal” situation. Today we
have terrorists who are suicide bombers on land and at sea. We have been hurt once with USNS Cole.
Justification is present and you have video of this incident. The British did well by restraining
themselves with warning shots.
