According to the BBC the British Government has blocked American backed UN sanctions against two kingpins of the Somali piracy organizations. The article goes on to describe how the EU forces on scene released pirates caught in the act, because it was simply to hard to prosecute.
I don’t know about you, but I’m finding this attitude troubling.

Look at history. The Brits, Spanish and Portuguese governments simply paid off the Algerians as did the U. S. eventually.
I suppose the Somali’s will just continue on as they have. As long as they don’t kill a bunch of people in the process or make “slaves” of their captives the international transfers will continue.
The odd thing is that the Brits and Spanish went merrily around the Gulf of Mexico shooting and hanging pirates just as the U. S. did. It must be one of those oriental/occidental things.
