Do they loose points for “greening the Coast Guard” by having people travel there? How about Google Chat? Folks hovering around a big screen would help reduce that old carbon footprint. But were is the fun in using the internet?
What a waste of resources. Just another shining example how all the whining about how the CG has “no money” and how its budget is “cut year after year” is nothing more than an urban legend.
Agreed. Hard to go around claiming that small boat stations and cutters do not have the money to perform routine maintenance when we are spending funds on things like this.
