Hard to believe this sort of thing can happen, but gCaptain reports, at least for now, the Argentine tall ship ARA Libertad is being held in Ghana because of a dispute stemming from restructuring of Argentina’s debt in 2001.

Argentina is evacuating at least some of its crew members from ARA Libertad. Ghana is not allowing delivery of fuel, so the ship is unable to maintain hotel services. http://news.yahoo.com/argentine-leader-orders-evacuation-ship-seized-ghana-032656409–sector.html
An update here: http://gcaptain.com/court-orders-release-argentine-tall-ship/
“The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea ordered Ghana to immediately release Argentine naval ship ARA Libertad…”
The ship has been released and has sailed for Argentina.
