gCaptain is reporting the rapid growth of liquified petroleum gas exports from US ports. Sounds like this may be a new and significant challenge for port security, and possibly a potential terrorist target.

LPG is all around us now, in trucks, railcars, barges and oceangoing ships. Why would it suddenly be a concern? And product carriers are not, even with the current surge in imports? How about chemical carriers? I don’t follow your thinking.
Only that there appears to be a surge in the exporting of LPG from the US. Chemical carriers have also been a concern, not that we won’t do it, but that the Coast Guard will want to protect the facilities as we do other critical infrastructure that deals with hazardous material.
