USS John S. McCain has had a collision with a merchant vessel. Ten are missing. Navy news releases with updates here.
This unfortunately follows closely on the heels of the USS Fitzgerald collision.

It is apparent the merchant vessel must have been overtaking and hit McCain while on a course about 45 degrees to the right of McCain’s heading. McCain must have been moving very slowly
