USNI report on the successful resupply mission here.
This cries out for an ancient solution. The Philippines should build a class of ship with a tumblehome bow fitted with a modernized version of a trireme ram, instead of a bulbous bow or sonar dome. It could also have some optimization for resupply, and a Marine detachment to counter boarding and also board Chinese fishing vessels. Any shenanigans with breaking the rules of the road by the Chinese CG, and the Philippines could just explain. the Chinese drove in front of them! π A modern day ramming sinking a CCP CG vessel would be such poetic justice!
I too feel this way, at least some times. You don’t really even need a ram bow just good watertight integrity and hit them squarely in the engineroom.
Of course, the CCP will blame the Philippines, and, especially for internal consumption, the truth will not be told. While itβs a fun fantasy, geopolitically, it would be counter-productive and play into the CCPβs hands. But still a fun fantasy!
Whatever happens has to be recorded on video.
