“…The patrol ship has a total length of about 200 meters and a total tonnage of 30,000 tons. Currently, it is more than three times the standard of the largest patrol ship (about 6,500 tons) owned by Kaiho.
In an emergency, up to 1,000 people can be transported. It can carry up to 3 helicopters and many rubber boats, and it is also possible to use it as a “sea base” for security. It is scheduled to be commissioned in fiscal 2029, and the deployment destination is undecided.
Kaiho explained that it did not keep in mind the territorial waters security around the Senkaku Islands, and it said that it would not carry machine guns…”
