The Coast Guard Compass reports a memorial service for Chief Boatswains Mate Richard Patterson on June 16.

Great article. One of the crew (McKenney?) was later assigned to the recruiting station in Denver (he joked that he’d asked to be as far from the ocean as possible). He signed me up for OCS class 69-1.
