Center for Strategic & International Studies hosted an event to introduce the updated strategy
Friday, March 13, the Coast Guard, Navy and Marines issued a new strategy document endorsed by all three services. It is a substantial update and revision of the existing tri-service strategy.
CIMSEC has kicked off their discussion of the document with their first post on the topic which also provides links to the document.
We will be discussing it further in the future.
The strategy is being translated into several languages. There is a classified annex.

Apparently the strategy is currently available in Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Korean in addition to English. http://www.navy.mil/local/maritime/

They had originally talked about a second forward deployed MEU in the Pacific. But this document only talks about maintaining 1 in the Western Pacific. I guess they have given up on that idea.
A good start would be to change the Title 10 definition of “naval” to include the Coast Guard. Woodrow Wilson signed an Executive Order in 1916 making the Coast Guard one of the nation’s naval forces. The Navy Department has worked since to exclude the Coast Guard.
This cultural hump should be the first problem tackled then the equal footing can begin.
