CNN reports Ukrainian claims to have destroyed the Russian Alligator class LST Orsk. Two other Russian landing ships were damaged. My contact in Ukraine tells me the hit was by a Soviet era Tochka U missile, NATO reporting name SS-21 Scarab (no confirmation of course).
Their own fleet can’t provide basic defense for a landing is how I see this. SHould the ship be more defended or nearby combatants have more to offer? Why isn’t there force protection keeping civilians and local webcams such they can’t get a good view of their landing activity? All things we should consider with LAW and EPFs.
images post attack.
More confirmation the ship is sunk in shallow water dockside.
