  2. Only six tons towing pull??

From what I have read the stations are using two 47 footers to handle the bigger vessels. In one recent case a 47 was dispatched but remained on scene until a 210 from Astoria arrived.

I get the impression that there will be no replacement for the 52 footers.

    • I think it is more that contracting for everything is deadly slow to because of the care needed to avoid litigation. Big cutter take ten years to see results. Smaller ones might take three or four.

      • Maybe we should just lease a few small commercial tugboats until they can get something built. You can run a commercial tug with the same size crew as a 52.
