Above is a news report that a Coast Guard unit on the Rio Grande River was fired upon and returned fire.

This action took place Saturday, September 26,2026. There were injuries to Coast Guard personnel and no damage to Coast Guard property.

In reaction, both the US and Mexico are deploying additional troops along the border.

I find it odd there was no report of this incident on the normal Coast Guard public information outlets included in my list of recommended blogs.
