Both the former Coast Guard 378s now in service with the Philippine Navy are being used to respond the recent Typhoon damage.

  1. The German Navy Blog Marine Forum is reporting (without attribution):
    “24 November, PHILIPPINES (Typhoon Haiyan)

“US Navy LCS-1 FREEDOM has completed delivering humanitarian aid supplies to Tacloban”
Bangladesh navy newly acquired patrol frigate SOMUDRO JOY (former USCG HAMILTON class) enroute the Philippines with a load of humanitarian aid supplies.”

So that is three former USCG 378s involved in the response. Not bad for over 40 year old ships.
